Summer has arrived Immediately vadam , vathal come to our mind Today, let us see how to make vadam Raw rice is to be soaked in warm water for half an hour Then rice is washed and water is drained Rice After rice is dried For one kilogram rice add quarter kilogram sago ( Javvarisi ) and grind in the rice grinding machine Spread the rice evenly so that it dries quickly The flour so prepared can be used for making onion vadam also It is to be dried under a ceiling fan and not under the sun After drying , for 1 kg ric add 1/4 kg sago and grind at the local shop and sieve For 1 measure flour, boil 1 measure water Dissolve the flour in water The flour can be added to boiling water without this step Following this step ensures that the flour dissolves evenly and there are no solid particles Add a little oil Wet grind green chillies and salt in a mixer Add it to boiling water using a filter Add the flour dissolved in water Stir well till the flour changes colour when it is cooked completely When the flour is ready I will prepare omapodi ( thin ) vadam At this stage we can add fine chopped onions also Onion or vengaya vadam can be prepared by placing them using our hands Vadam flour has cooked completely Switch off the stove When it cools vadam paste or batter will still solidify

  1. Sudha! Did you use 1 green chili and 1 tsp salt for this? It looks like you don't add lemon juice to this. Any reason for this?
