What I Eat in a Day

What I Eat in a Day

– I am doing something
very scary, right now. – [Chad] Did you go to the gym? – [Ruby] I did, I went to the gym. – With who? – [Ruby] It was fun! I’m exited.
– I like. – Jigsaw puzzles. Like, I love them so much that I spent a hundred dollars on them. (grain mill roars) (Chad screams)
(Ruby screams) – Chad! (upbeat music) Good morning, passengers. It is bright and dark. Wait. You know, bright and early? No, it is dark and early. That’s what I meant to say. Good morning, passengers. It is dark and early. I am doing something
very scary, right now. I don’t know if I want to
be doing this, but Shari- – But we’re making her do it. – Shari is, like, “Wow, this is the coolest.” Because Shari’s so good at the gym. Kevin is doing something, this morning. He’s doing a training,
which I will tell you about later, because
it’s important to know, because I’m doing the
same training, similar. It has nothing to do with the gym. So, because he has that
going, this morning, I am taking his gym, his, what? His special- – Personal training time. – His personal training time. So, I’m meeting with the personal trainer, who’s gonna make me take
one of those pictures, you know, where you
stand in your sports bra, and she puts calibers on your fat. (laughs) Am I okay, doing this? – Yes. I think the hardest part, for Mom, is gonna be the food. – It is. It is, because, in my mind, I’m like- – [Shari] It’s the
hardest part for everyone. – In my mind, I’m like,
“But I can eat junk food. “I can eat gross, because it
doesn’t seem to affect me.” – But it does. – But it does. I would, I have been feeling sluggish. I have felt a lessening of energy. And a depression in my mood. Not depression, not, I’m not depressed, but I have noticed a slip. So, hopefully, this will help. Do you think she’d be
okay, if I filmed some of my exercise, or something? (upbeat music) This is, this is perfect. Yeah, I’m definitely
leaving feeling excited, because I know what I’m gonna be eating. I’m feeling challenged.
– [Trainer] Yeah. – But not a complete loss, like, I can come to the gym, without Kevin telling
me what to do, which is- – [Trainer] Yeah. – I usually have to have Kevin here, telling me what to do. As I’m walking to my van, I can smell the grocery store doughnuts. They smell so good! And I’m so hungry. – [Chad] Gym? – [Ruby] I did, I went to the gym. – With who? – [Ruby] Myself. – [Shari] Brooklyn is- – [Ruby] I went with Brooklyn, since Dad is doing something
else, in the mornings. – Okay. – [Chad] Mom’s workout.
– [Shari] Russel, are your teeth brushed, did you brush your teeth? – She got squats.
– Russell. – Military presses. – I can’t believe she
gave you military presses. – [Ruby] It was fun! I’m excited. – I like, she didn’t give you macros? – [Ruby] No, she did not give me macros. – Because she knew you wouldn’t? – [Ruby] Well, I told her,
“I don’t like taking up “all the time, to add up
all the little macros. “I hate being on my phone that much.” And to count your macros, you have to do all this stuff, on your phone. I just, I don’t, so, she
gave me a simple meal plan. – [Shari] So, are you
gonna eat that, everyday? – No, I mean, I’ll mix it up. But my meal plan is for breakfast, I have a carb. I have a protein, and this also counts as fat. The egg and the ham are also fat. So, that is my balanced breakfast. One of the goals, that I told Brooklyn, was I wanted to have more energy, and feel less stress, and I wanted to firm up my stomach. I want my muscles to be stronger, so that my back won’t hurt as much. And if I can strengthen my core, I’m going to feel better,
in my back and shoulders. And so, right now, I’ve got, this is my office set up. This is why I’m really excited to move, because my office set up
is working on the couch. That’s gonna change, in the new house. But she told me something,
that was quite surprising. She said, “One of the reasons people start “getting pudgy and they lose strength, “in their middle, is because
they’re not eating enough. “And when you’re not eating enough, “and you get lost in your work, “you begin to have cortisol released. “And that is a fat making, “that is not going to make you feel good. “It’s gonna make you feel sluggish.” And she said she’s worked
with a lot of CEOs, and they all have the same problem. They carry their weight in their gut. And it’s because they go
on these long work binges. They’re binging on all of their work load, and they don’t take a
break to actually eat. So, it’s now 11 o’clock. I had breakfast, earlier. And I’m going to have a second meal. Okay, so, for my lunch number one, (laughs) my first lunch, or second breakfast, I’m going to have a
high fat cottage cheese. You can get it in no fat,
low fat, or you can get it in two percent. And I got the high fat,
which is four percent. And then, I love cottage
cheese with pears. Because pears are very sweet. So, this is my carb. And then, this is my protein. These are pistachios. And so, carb, protein. And I do have fat. What I do like, about eating purposefully, is it’s kind of a treat, to set up dinner, set up your meals. And I’m sitting down. They’re in cute dishes. I feel like it’s more of a
pampering session, eating, than it is, just to eat out of the can. So, this is really,
kind of a fun switch up, change up, for me. (upbeat music) Shari told me, that she is
going to get a front loader, when she gets out, on her own. Because the top loader, she
can’t reach down in there. (grunts) I can barely reach in it. It’s huge. (upbeat music) (upbeat music) Okay, so here is my lunch. I have never, ever seen
someone put cheddar cheese on an avocado toast, but I love it. I just thought it adds a really salty, adds a little more flavor to your avocado. And then these, (laughs) these are so good. These mozzarella packets. It just kind of fits, in
the palm of your hand. These are super good with Triscuits too. Yeah, Triscuits. That’s my favorite cracker. My kids love these. So, I have, my carb, is my toast, and I have my fat, which is my avocado. And I have protein, which is the cheese. Right now, it’s 2:30, I’m
feeling pretty hungry. I’ll let you know if this is filling. I’m eating more than I usually do, though. Like, by this time, on a normal day, I would be starving. Because I would have had breakfast, or no breakfast, and then, snacking on cookies, or Oreos, or something like that. That’s what it’s been like, the last, last couple of months. I can feel myself getting full. I can feel it. (water bottle clanks) (fridge door closes) I wanna tell you what brought this on. I just totally spilled water everywhere. My New Year’s resolution, was to not buy clothes,
for an entire year. Which is a goal I’m totally gonna keep. I totally see now, why
people say you can’t stop a bad habit, without
replacing it with a good habit. So, let me tell you how no shopping went. I’ve already told you, I cried and cried. Didn’t know why. It wasn’t because, I can’t go shopping, so I’m gonna cry. I was just like, my emotions
came to the surface. Because I wasn’t suppressing them. And so, all I did was cry. And so, I am doing this, in attempt to help do something healthy for myself. And I can see how, when you start on a pathway, to better health, mentally, it can lead you into
places, you didn’t think you were gonna show up. I had no intention of
exercising, or eating better. That was not my New Year’s goal. Because of my New Year’s goal, though, I’m getting into healthier, other areas that I didn’t anticipate. So, I’m looking forward to doing this, eating and exercising. And I’m also looking forward
to my class, tonight. I cannot wait. We’ve got a few more meals, though. So, I’ve eaten, so far, three meals. And I have, I think, two meals left to go. (upbeat music) (grains pouring) (grain mill roars) (Chad screams)
(Ruby screams) – Chad! Stop it! (Chad claps) (Chad yells) (Ruby laughs) And then, gently lift it up. Because flour goes everywhere. – [Chad] Question mark,
why we just use flour? – [Ruby] Because, I’m
trying to eat better. This is whole wheat. – [Chad] Get whole wheat flour. – Complete whole wheat. And it’s not, like, whole
wheat, with added sugar. It’s whole wheat, whole wheat. Ground from the very berry. From the very berry! Did you know that wheat stays good, for years and years and years? This, that I just ground,
guess how old it is. – I don’t even wanna know. – I bought it when we
moved to Springville. – Oh. – 12 years, almost 13 years ago. – That’s kind of gross. – Mm mm. No, that’s why the Egyptians would put wheat in their, I don’t know, pantries. (laughs) Because it would last forever. You can eat wheat that 100 years old. If it’s been kept in a cool, dry area. – That’s gross. No, it’s not. It’s amazing. – Okay, so you have known me, since I was a little kid, right? So, you know that I’m into sports, girls, and, like, fun and friends, right? Well, this is gonna be an unusual hobby that you’re gonna find unusual, for me. I found out that I enjoy
puzzles, more than anything. Like, jigsaw puzzles. Like, I love them so much, that I spent a hundred dollars on them, for my new room. So, we’re moving into a new house, right? I’m gonna get a room, and I wanna be able to do, like, this puzzle thing, in my room. Where it’s kinda like
a pyramid of puzzles. But I didn’t want it to
just be random puzzles, so I picked out a ton
of Star Wars puzzles. I got one done, a couple days ago, and it’s down stairs. I’ll show you guys it, but I ordered some more. And this isn’t even all of them. Okay. So, these are 1000 piece puzzles. I’ve got this one, this one, this one, this is a 2000 piece puzzle. And then, so, if you guys
have watched The Mandalorian, it’s like the most popular show, ever. I got a baby Yoda, big
puzzle, to put on the very top of the pyramid. Because who doesn’t like baby Yoda? Okay, so, this is a puzzle
I finished, the other day. I’m gonna glue it together,
on that card board piece. And then, we’ll get started,
on the other puzzles. Why do I love this so much? I don’t know, it’s super satisfying, and I don’t wanna stop. (Laughs) (upbeat music) – Where’s your missing piece? – [Chad] I did it on purpose. – [Abby] That’s where you drill the holes. – [Chad] That’s where you drill the holes, into, on the MDF board. – [Abby] And then, you
put the piece back on. – [Chad] And then, you
put the stubs in it, and that’s how you put it on the wall. – So, this is where
you wanna hang it from? – Mm hmm. – [Abby] And then, there’s, like, more, right there, there, there.
– [Chad] So, it’s all stable. – [Russell] And then, you
put the piece back on. – [Chad] So, do I need to
put glue on anything else, or do you think it will really stay? Because I’m gonna do it on the back, too. – [Ruby] Eve, I don’t, I told you, I didn’t want you doing that, anymore. Eve has learned how to shop Amazon. – [Chad] Well, not shop, shop, but just- – From our Windows shop, what
do you call Windows shopping, when it’s Apple TV shopping? – [Russell] I wanna And I’ve told her, I
don’t want her doing that. – [Russel] Mom, I wanna
show you the puzzles that I also want. – [Chad] Ever since I started doing this, every kids wants to do it. – Chad bought the puzzles,
with his own money. I have a really hard time, buying the kids something, right after Christmas. It just feels so wrong, to me. All right, so, I am going to show you now, what I’m gonna be doing, for dinner. I’ve been making this wheat bread, but it is not for me to eat, today. This is for me to eat
tomorrow, for breakfast, as toast. Just because it doesn’t
have any sugar in it. And it’s the best wheat
bread, in the world. I used to make it, all the
time, when my kids were little. I just haven’t made it in
a while, because it takes a long time to make. – You’re going down, bread! – [Ruby] And here is my dinner. I have my homemade sloppy joe recipe. In the cookbook, it says, “Bonnie Joe’s Sloppy Joes”, but it’s actually my mother-in-law’s. There’s actually a story written right, if you didn’t get the cookbook, there’s a really funny story, about how that mix up all happened. But it’s really yummy, and this is going to make a delicious dinner. It’s so good. (upbeat music) This is my favorite time of day. And I don’t normally bring my viewers into my bathroom. Into the vanity, yes, you see me helping fix the kids’ hair, and talk to the kids. But this spot, (laughs) this is my sacred sanctuary, that nobody comes to. This is Mom’s, (laughs) and I have a set up, here. Like a favorite reading book. Tonight, I am reading ‘Exiled’. And I am enjoying my favorite, favorite, evening treat. This is better than dessert. You discover this, you won’t ever eat a piece of chocolate cake again. Because it’s chocolate
peanut butter granola. And it’s amazing. It is so good, so, that
is going to be my fifth meal of the day. And the, I am going to crawl into bed. It’s videos like this, I really
miss the comment section. Because I really, genuinely
want to ask you guys, what you think of my meals, or what you guys do, for your meals. Is anyone else trying to
be a little more careful, about what they’re eating? But there’s no comments! (laughs) So, if you wanna talk to me, you can come over to Instagram. But I tend to get really into fitness and eating, and
then, I kinda sink down. And then I get back into fitness, and then, I sink down. But I think the secret is getting back into fitness and better eating, so that you don’t keep going down. I think it’s okay, that there are dips, and then, you go back up. And then, there are dips. The key is that you stay healthy, instead of going, (mouth sounds) Like this, with your health. And say, “Well, I had
a dip, I might as well “hit rock bottom.” Because nobody, you don’t need to hit rock bottom, you guys. I’m really excited, about this. Thank you guys, so much, for watching. And I have some big news,
in tomorrow’s video, I’m excited to share with everybody. Thanks for watching. (upbeat music)
